S&W Seed: Fiscal 4Q Earnings Snapshot

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) _ S&W Seed Co. (SANW) on Thursday reported a loss of $4.3 million in its fiscal fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Sacramento, California-based company said it had a loss of 18 cents. Losses, adjusted for one-time items, were 24 cents per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 9 cents per share.

The alfalfa seed company posted revenue of $9.9 million in the period, also falling short of Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $13.3 million.

For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $4.7 million, or 21 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $64.1 million.

The company's shares closed at $3.05. A year ago, they were trading at $3.05.
