Washington Prime Group (WPG) Misses Q2 FFO and Revenue Estimates

Washington Prime Group (WPG) came out with quarterly funds from operations (FFO) of $0.27 per share, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.28 per share. This compares to FFO of $0.37 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

This quarterly report represents an FFO surprise of -3.57%. A quarter ago, it was expected that this real estate investment trust would post FFO of $0.29 per share when it actually produced FFO of $0.31, delivering a surprise of 6.90%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has surpassed consensus FFO estimates two times.

Washington Prime Group, which belongs to the Zacks REIT and Equity Trust - Retail industry, posted revenues of $161.43 million for the quarter ended June 2019, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 4.36%. This compares to year-ago revenues of $178.73 million. The company has topped consensus revenue estimates two times over the last four quarters.

The sustainability of the stock's immediate price movement based on the recently-released numbers and future FFO expectations will mostly depend on management's commentary on the earnings call.

Washington Prime Group shares have lost about 28.8% since the beginning of the year versus the S&P 500's gain of 19.9%.
