VAUGHAN, Ontario (AP) _ Waste Connections Inc. (WCN) on Monday reported second-quarter profit of $148.8 million.
On a per-share basis, the Vaughan, Ontario-based company said it had profit of 56 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 69 cents per share.
The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 69 cents per share.
The solid waste services provider posted revenue of $1.37 billion in the period, which topped Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.36 billion.
Waste Connections expects full-year revenue of $5.38 billion.
Waste Connections shares have increased 27% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $94.18, a rise of 21% in the last 12 months.
