  • A spectator posted, via Twitter, a priceless set of video clips showing a Tesla Model S receiving flatbed assistance on the Nürburgring.
  • But wait, there's more: Four (count 'em) Porsches, including a Taycan test car, pass by the Tesla during the filming.
  • The clips were posted to Twitter on Thursday by @evdefender.

To paraphrase the great hoodlum-philosopher, John Bender from the movie The Breakfast Club, "Cars break down all the time. The world is an imperfect place."

But even Bender couldn't have dreamed of a more perfectly imperfect set of circumstances for a breakdown than what appears in the above video. Tesla and its outspoken leader, Elon Musk, have been crowing quite a bit lately about the Porsche Taycan–whupping performance of the Model S P100D+ prototype the company had publicly circling the Nürburgring Nordschleife this week.

Fate hates immodesty, though. And so, naturally, when the Tesla stopped on course, apparently unable to move under its own usually prodigious power, there was a spectator there to record not just the breakdown and subsequent removal of the car on a flatbed truck, but also the exquisite moment of karma as a Porsche Taycan test car trundled by the scene, looking entirely functional. Displaying perhaps more restraint than we would be able to muster, the Porsche driver doesn't wave, or honk, or even stop to ask if the Tesla driver might need a lift back to the garages. During the removal of the Tesla, several other Porsche test cars drive by, each showing the same decorum.

Two side notes: 1. While we haven't conducted a full video analysis, it is our contention that the flatbed truck might actually be going faster than any other vehicle in the clip. And 2., Wouldja look at that sweet Ram pickup!
