Watch 'Amsterdam' Trailer f/ Christian Bale, Chris Rock, Margot Robbie, Taylor Swift, Robert De Niro, and More

David O. Russell has assembled an even more ridiculous cast of actors than usual—including some familiar faces from his body of work—to star in his upcoming murder mystery Amsterdam, due Nov. 4 and marking the writer/director’s first feature in seven years.

The first official trailer, led by Christian Bale alongside Margot Robbie and John David Washington, finds the trio at the heart of a murder the two men’s characters are accused of committing. From there, they go on a wild adventure that brings them to Amsterdam as they elude police and try to clear their names.

The trailer teases that many of the events in the film, executive produced by Drake and Future the Prince, “actually happened” and that these three friends “altered the course of American history.” If that and the supporting cast—Chris Rock, Robert De Niro, Mike Myers, Taylor Swift, Zoe Saldaña, Rami Malek, Anya Taylor-Joy, Alessandro Nivola, Andrea Riseborough, Matthias Schoenaerts, Michael Shannon—isn’t a good enough sell, we’re not sure what is. The five-time Oscar nominated Russell previously worked with De Niro in Joy and Silver Linings Playbook, and Bale and Nivola in American Hustle. Besides the 2019 musical-turned-movie Cats and her music videos, this will be one of the few times Swift has acted.
