With 526 horsepower on tap, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 is pretty quick on its own. That hasn't stopped the aftermarket from adding massive amounts of power to make it go quicker, though.
Fathouse Fabrications of Martinsville, Indiana specializes in giving the GT350 big power with its twin-turbo systems. One of its Shelby GT350s, making an outrageous 1500 horsepower, was able to lay down an incredibly quick 9.0-second quarter-mile time back in May 2019. Now, another one of the shop's cars has broken that record.
According to Fathouse, the car above makes 1470 horsepower and 1080 lb-ft of torque to the wheels, and uses a MoTeC ECU. It was able to cross the quarter-mile in just 8.6 seconds at 163 mph. That's wildly quick for a street car, much less one with a full interior and air conditioning. With a bit of weight removal and more aero, we bet it could go even quicker.
