The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 13 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 13 cents per share.
The oilfield services company posted revenue of $1.44 billion in the period, which fell short of Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.52 billion.
The company's shares closed at $1.97. A year ago, they were trading at $3.27.
