BAAR, Switzerland (AP) _ Weatherford International Ltd. (WFT) on Friday reported a loss of $2.1 billion in its fourth quarter.
The Baar, Switzerland-based company said it had a loss of $2.10 per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 14 cents per share.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 12 cents per share.
The oilfield services company posted revenue of $1.43 billion in the period, also falling short of Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.44 billion.
For the year, the company reported that its loss narrowed to $2.81 billion, or $2.82 per share. Revenue was reported as $5.74 billion.
The company's shares closed at 65 cents. A year ago, they were trading at $3.94.
