WHEELING, W.Va. (AP) _ WesBanco Inc. (WSBC) on Wednesday reported second-quarter net income of $4.5 million.
The Wheeling, West Virginia-based bank said it had earnings of 7 cents per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 35 cents per share.
The holding company for WesBanco Bank posted revenue of $167.6 million in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $151.9 million, beating Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $146.5 million.
WesBanco shares have fallen 46% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $20.46, a decrease of 45% in the last 12 months.
