Western Energy reports 1Q loss

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) _ Western Energy Services Corp. (WEEEF) on Wednesday reported a loss of $3.3 million in its first quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Calgary, Alberta-based company said it had a loss of 5 cents.

The drilling services company posted revenue of $63.6 million in the period.

In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, the company's shares hit $1.53. A year ago, they were trading at $2.13.
