ATLANTA (AP) _ WestRock Co. (WRK) on Tuesday reported fiscal second-quarter net income of $160.4 million.
The Atlanta-based company said it had profit of 62 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for restructuring costs and non-recurring costs, came to 80 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 63 cents per share.
The paper and packaging company posted revenue of $4.62 billion in the period, which fell short of Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $4.65 billion.
WestRock shares have decreased almost 2% since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 39% in the last 12 months.
