HANOVER, N.H. (AP) _ White Mountains Insurance Group Ltd. (WTM) on Monday reported first-quarter net income of $284.4 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
The Hanover, New Hampshire-based company said it had profit of $89.64 per share. Losses, adjusted for investment gains and to account for discontinued operations, were $9.27 per share.
The insurer posted revenue of $433.6 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $21.1 million.
White Mountains shares have climbed roughly 10% since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen slightly more than 9% in the last 12 months.
