MIAMI (AP) _ WhiteHorse Finance Inc. (WHF) on Wednesday reported second-quarter profit of $19.1 million.

The Miami-based company said it had net income of 93 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for investment gains, came to 33 cents per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 36 cents per share.

The lender to small companies posted revenue of $14.7 million in the period.

WhiteHorse shares have climbed 9.5 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen slightly more than 8 percent in the last 12 months.
