Whoopi Goldberg says she prefers to live alone because she doesn't want 'commitment'
Whoopi Goldberg likes to fly solo.
On Monday, "The View" co-host revealed on the "Tamron Hall Show" that she has made a conscious decision to live alone with her 20-year-old cat, Oliver.
"When you make a commitment to live with someone else, it’s a commitment to ask their opinion and listen and work it out with them. I don’t want to do that," Goldberg, 64, said. "I don’t want to share money. I know it’s terrible, but I don’t want to."
Goldberg is just the latest celebrity to share her preference of living alone.
Earlier this month, "Big Bang Theory" actress Kaley Cuoco opened up about living separately from her husband Karl Cook after more than a year of marriage.

"The older I get, I know now what works for me," Cuoco said on the "Brad Behavior" podcast last week. "We've been together for almost four years. We've not lived together. We are building our house, as you know. We will be under the same roof, eventually, but this has worked for us."
Similarly, Gwyneth Paltrow revealed in June to London's The Sunday Times that she only lives part-time with TV producer husband Brad Falchuk.
Although Paltrow's unconventional living situation caught flak from "The View" co-host Meghan McCain, Goldberg defended her: "I love it. I’ve done it. I don’t want anybody in my house."
Goldberg continued: "You can come and cook, you can come and hang out, you can sleep (over) and then you gotta go home. I don’t want your drawers on the bathroom floor!"
In 2016, Goldberg told the New York Times that she's "not that interested" in love or getting married again because she thoroughly enjoys her own space. (Goldberg has been married three times.)
"I’m much happier on my own," she told the outlet. "I can spend as much time with somebody as I want to spend, but I’m not looking to be with somebody forever or live with someone. I don’t want somebody in my house."
Paltrow, however, said this summer that she and Falchuk were moving in together.
