Prince Louis' newly-revealed christening portraits have us reminiscing about his siblings' official baptism photos, too. Prince George's featured a smiling Queen in 2013, and Princess Charlotte's had sweet brother-sister moments in 2015, but someone important was missing from the latter photoshoot: Prince Harry.

The Duke of Sussex wasn't present at his niece's christening three years ago and was therefore absent from the official family portraits for the event. At the time, he was on a three-month trip to Africa to support conservation projects, The Telegraph reported. The visit began in June that year, which meant he wasn't around for Charlotte's christening in July.

Harry later joked that he was "a bad uncle" for missing out on the special occasion. He was also out of the country for Princess Charlotte's birth on May 2, since he was on a month-long deployment in Australia with the army.

He finally left Sydney five days after his niece's birth. He said as he concluded his trip, "I am looking forward to meeting her. She's beautiful, so it's great," according to Today.

Prince Harry made up for his absence three years later at Prince Louis' christening. He was present at the July 9 ceremony at the Chapel Royal in St. James' Palace. Plus, he brought his new spouse, Meghan Markle.

This time around, however, the Queen and Prince Philip were absent from the family celebration, likely due to Her Majesty's busy schedule for the week. Though the royal couple was missing from the official pictures, the monarch still made a sneaky appearance in the photos-via a painted portrait hanging in the background.
