Why Ree Drummond Can't Imagine Any Place But Oklahoma Being Home·Southern Living

It's hard to imagine the Pawhuska Princess living anywhere besides the Sooner State. Though she was originally born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Drummond actually lived in Los Angeles while going to college at the University of Southern California and had plans to move to Chicago following graduation. That's when love brought her back to her home state.

Trading in the hustle and bustle of big city life, Drummond decided to make the move to Pawhuska, Oklahoma after meeting her future husband, Ladd. As The Cheat Sheet unearths, "in a Book Page interview, Ree is asked what she thinks her life would be like if she didn’t make the choice to move to the country to be with Ladd." Drummond tells Book Page, "Yeah, I shudder. I am thoroughly convinced that I am where I was meant to wind up. In the country we really lead an isolated life… we’re just together; we’re out here, we’re on the land and in the quiet. It’s not that everyone needs that to maintain some level of peace and contentment, but I needed it. It centered me."

With long-range views, stunning sunsets, and a low-key life on her and Ladd's ranch, we don't blame Ree for heeding Pawhuska's call.

Clearly, it truly is Okla-home for the Food Network star and cookbook author. We wouldn't mind teleporting ourselves to Pawhuska either.
