TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Williams Cos. (WMB) on Wednesday reported third-quarter earnings of $221 million.
The Tulsa, Oklahoma-based company said it had net income of 18 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 26 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 24 cents per share.
The pipeline operator posted revenue of $2 billion in the period.
Williams Cos. expects full-year earnings in the range of 83 cents to $1.07 per share.
Williams Cos. shares have risen roughly 4% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has increased 22%. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $22.89, a decrease of slightly more than 5% in the last 12 months.
