NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Sep 19, 2013) - Influential voices of the academic, business and policy world will gather in New York City to participate in the Caspian Forum, a platform that explores the foundations for a prosperous, secure and democratic Euroasia region. The Forum will be moderated by the Emmy Award-winning journalist Charlie Rose, and will take place at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, on September 25, 2013 at 6:00 p.m.
"World leaders will discuss Southern Gas Corridor's strategic importance and its benefits for European Energy Security. TANAP (Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project) is the landmark achievement and first phase of this initiative. The idea was created years ago, but could not be implemented. With the leadership of Azerbeijan and Turkey, the dream became reality," the Secretary General of the Caspian Strategy Institute, Mr. Haldun Yavas, said today.
Initially proposed by the European Commission in 1994, and signed into agreement in 2012, the TANAP project has been billed as a "revolution in the energy history" of Eurasia. Its goal is to streamline a direct route for Caspian energy resources to the European and Middle Eastern nations.
