BANGKOK, THAILAND--(Marketwire - Dec 19, 2012) - World Moto, Inc. (
The Association will represent one of the largest associations in the world: There are an estimated 20 million motorcycle taxis operating globally and all drivers, regardless of which country they are operating in, face the same issues for such things as safety, equipment maintenance, driver training, etc. The Association will provide an organized framework for the interaction between all stakeholders in the motorcycle taxi industry. The Association's Charter will provide opportunity and access for motorcycle taxi drivers to communicate their needs to all relevant parties, as well as provide valuable feedback on how the drivers can accommodate strategies for cooperation, and help support the sector's rapid growth.
The Association will be a non-profit organization and consequently not generate any direct revenues for World Moto. However the Company views the establishment of the Association as an excellent opportunity to enhance the industry and further World Moto's renown and associations in the sector. Moreover, this initiative is expected to have a positive impact on the sales of the Moto-Meter and World Moto's other products and services.
World Moto CEO Paul Giles stated, "The founding of the first global moto taxi association symbolizes a major inflection point in the industry and opens a new chapter in its history."
