TORONTO (AP) _ Yamana Gold Inc. (AUY) on Thursday reported second-quarter profit of $14.1 million.
On a per-share basis, the Toronto-based company said it had net income of 1 cent. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 2 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 1 cent per share.
The gold mining company posted revenue of $463.5 million in the period.
In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, the company's shares hit $2.86. A year ago, they were trading at $2.80.
