NEW YORK (AP) -- The Yankees are dropping the price on 9,000 seats next season, raising the cost of 2,000 and leaving the rest the same, while building a new lounge and 10 additional suites.
Some lower level seats down the foul lines will go up by $10 to $75, and some in the middle deck will increase by $10 to $120. Obstructed view bleachers will increase by $3 to $15.
Upper deck seats in six sections near the foul poles will drop from $40 to $28, and some others in four sections down the line are being cut from $55 to $50. Two sections in the middle deck will drop from $70 to $50, and five other sections are being reduced $5.
Sections 116-124 in the lower deck from rows 12-21 are being renamed Field MVP Club and will have access to a new Field MVP Club Lounge that is under construction. The price of the seats as part of season tickets will drop from $260 to $235, and some other seats on that level will drop $15-25 per game.
The team said 18 percent of the seats are dropping in price and 4 percent are rising.
Ten Outdoor Suite Boxes which seat six to eight people are being built in the lower deck and will be available on season plans.
New York drew an AL-high 3,279,589, its lowest in five seasons at new Yankee Stadium and down from 3.54 million last year.
