Cincinnati Reds outfielder Yasiel Puig used to be known as the “Wild Horse” with the Los Angeles Dodgers. It didn’t take him long to find a new persona with the Reds.
After seemingly taking on the entire Pittsburgh Pirates team in a brawl in early April, Puig might be angling to be known as “El Guerrero Rojo,” or The Red Warrior, from now on.
How do we know this? Puig sent a pretty clear message with this excellent, custom shirt.

What you see there is a picture of Puig in a sea of yellow and black Pirates uniforms. It’s been framed like a classic piece of art. Under the frame sits the phrase “El Guerrero Rojo.”
That classic scene was the result of an April 7 game. It all started after Derek Dietrich angered Chris Archer by admiring a home run for too long. The next time Dietrich came to the plate, Archer threw behind him. That brought Puig out of the dugout to try and take on the entire Pirates team.
An iconic photo was snapped, and the rest is history.
How does Dietrich feel about the whole thing? He’s just glad he could inspire such an epic moment.

Sadly, Puig decided to debut the shirt before a game against the Atlanta Braves. The Reds don’t take on the Pirates again until the end of May, and Puig didn’t want to wait that long to show off this masterpiece.
It’s kinda hard to blame him.
