It's been a long, cold winter, friends, and with Christmas behind us and summer a distant dream, you could be forgiven for suffering from a touch of the January blues.

But it's not all doom and gloom because Sex Education season two has finally arrived to stick a gigantic smile on all of our faces.

The Netflix comedy-drama has kicked up a gear from its debut, delivering yet another sensational chapter worthy of every ounce of praise, largely due to its stellar cast.

All of the OG crowd are back – Otis (Asa Butterfield), Eric (Ncuti Gatwa), Jean (Gillian Anderson), Maeve (Emma Mackey), Aimee (Aimee-Lou Wood), Adam (Connor Swindells), Jackson (Kedar Williams-Stirling), Ola (Patricia Allison), Lily (Tanya Reynolds) and Mr Groff (Alistair Petrie), among others.

And there are some new faces, too:

  • Chinenye Ezeudu is playing super-intelligent, multi-talented Viv.
  • Sami Outalbali is Rahim, a French student who makes quite the impact – he appeared in Netflix's Mortel last year.
  • George Robinson has joined the cast as Isaac, Maeve's new neighbour.

And there's another new addition who a number of you will undoubtedly recognise.

T'Nia Miller plays chair of the school board Maxine, a woman who puts the fear of God into headmaster Groff.

Back in 2019, Miller appeared in another supremely popular TV show: Russell T Davies' hit BBC/HBO drama Years and Years.

Miller played Celeste, an accountant who was married to Rory Kinnear's Stephen Lyons.

Her other credits include Hatton Garden, Dark Heart, Marcella, Silent Witness and many others.

Miller is also set to appear in Mike Flanagan's The Haunting of Haunting of Bly Manor, the follow-up to Netflix's The Haunting of Hill House.

She is one of five new cast members, alongside Rahul Kohli, Amelia Eve, Amelie Smith and Benjamin Ainsworth.

But while we wait patiently for that one to land, we're going to enjoy Groff quivering under her watchful eye.

Sex Education season two is airing now on Netflix.
