NEW YORK (AP) _ Yext Inc. (YEXT) on Thursday reported a loss of $21.1 million in its fiscal second quarter.

On a per-share basis, the New York-based company said it had a loss of 22 cents. Losses, adjusted for stock option expense, were 10 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 11 cents per share.

The software developer posted revenue of $55.1 million in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $53.7 million.

For the current quarter ending in November, Yext expects its results to range from a loss of 14 cents per share to a loss of 12 cents per share.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $57.5 million to $58.5 million for the fiscal third quarter.

Yext expects full-year results to range from a loss of 43 cents per share to a loss of 41 cents per share, with revenue ranging from $226 million to $228 million.

Yext shares have more than doubled since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $25.30, a climb of 92 percent in the last 12 months.
