The latest update to Facebook’s Messenger app for iOS now allows you to send and receive video. This new feature comes just a few weeks after Facebook added the ability to call any local contact in your phone book for free when connected to WiFi.

Here’s how to navigate the new tool:

1. Update the app here.

2. You’ll be welcomed to “Messenger 5.0.” Keep in mind that this is all part of Facebook’s plan to eventually phase out messaging from its main app.

3. You may also be asked to link your cellphone number to your Messenger account. This will allow you to call any of your local friends on the Messenger app for free if you’re connected to WiFi.

4. From there, you’ll be brought to your main feed. Tap the chat bubble icon at the bottom of the screen.

5. You’ll be shown a list of your most recent conversations. Either tap on a conversation to continue, or tap the composition icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.

6. As you can see, my colleague Daniel loves a good selfie. I won’t be able to directly record and send video, but I can upload it from my iPhone library by tapping the landscape icon.

6. From there, you’ll jump to your library. where you can select whatever video you’d like to share. If you’d like to preview the video before sending it, just hold your finger on the tile, and it will come up on your screen. Afterward, tap Send in the upper-right corner of the screen.

(I’m ashamed to say my photo collection is just photos of my cat and screenshots for how-tos.)

7. From there, the video will load. If your recipient is on iOS, he can play it within his Messenger app.

And that’s about it!
