British people are most worried about being a victim of cyber crime, more so than violent crime or robbery, new research has revealed.
The poll, carried out by Yahoo News UK and YouGov, revealed 28% of people worry about cyber crime either very often or fairly often, compared to 19% who worry about a home break-in the same amount.
The survey found that 15% of people worried very often or fairly often about violent crime, with the same percentage for robbery.
In all cases women are more likely to worry often or fairly often about crime than men, the poll revealed.
Older people appear to worry less about violent crime than their younger counterparts, with 17% over those aged over 55 worrying often or fairly often about violent crime, compared to 26% of 18 to 24-year olds.
But when it comes to cyber crime, older people are more concerned than younger generations - with 22% of 18 to 24-year-olds worrying very often or fairly often compared to 34% of over-55s or 32% of 45 to 54-year-olds.

Younger people are also most likely to worry regularly about home break-ins, with 11% of 18 to 24-year-olds saying they worry about this type of crime very often, compared to half that (5%) over those ages 55 and over.
How much you worry about different crimes also depends on where you are in the country, the poll suggests, with figures appearing to show that those in more heavily populated areas like the Midlands, London, the north, the east and the south, are more worried than those in Wales or Scotland.
People in London are most likely to worry very often about a home break-in than people in other regions - 13% compared to 4% in the south, 5% in the east and 9% in the Midlands.
The capital is also where people most fear violent crime, with 9% of people worrying about it very often, followed by 7% in the Midlands and 5% in the north and in the east.
The same trend is shown for robbery on the street, with 10% of Londoners worrying about it very often, followed by 7% in the Midlands and 5% in the North.
