Is Yuzhou Properties's (HKG:1628) 133% Share Price Increase Well Justified?

While Yuzhou Properties Company Limited (HKG:1628) shareholders are probably generally happy, the stock hasn't had particularly good run recently, with the share price falling 11% in the last quarter. But in stark contrast, the returns over the last half decade have impressed. Indeed, the share price is up an impressive 133% in that time. So while it's never fun to see a share price fall, it's important to look at a longer time horizon. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean it's cheap now.

That's not necessarily surprising considering the five-year track record of earnings growth.

Having said that, most people consider earnings and revenue growth trends to be a more meaningful guide to the business. When looking at investment returns, it is important to consider the difference between total shareholder return (TSR) and share price return.
