Quote from Zelenskyy: "We definitely didn't order this [the explosion on the Kerch Bridge - ed.], as far as I know."
Details: The president suggested that the explosion on the bridge could have been the result of an internal Russian struggle between the special services and the military.
"There are many power verticals [top-down command structures]. It's a big system. In the Soviet Union, it was the KGB. Today it consists of several branches that are constantly deciding which of them is the main one," the president added.
On 8 October, there was an explosion on the Kerch Bridge. A Russian investigative committee concluded that it was organised by Ukrainian special services.
The New York Times, citing sources, reported that the attack on the bridge was organised by Ukrainian special services.
Ukrainska Pravda sources also reported that the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) was behind the explosion on the Crimean Bridge that occurred on early 8 October.
Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate called the Russian Federation’s investigation "nonsense".
Mykhailo Podoliak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, has described the explosion on the Crimean Bridge as a manifestation of the conflict between Russian security forces.
