Canadian technology startup for on-demand home services begins to take off, opens door to investors
VANCOUVER , July 17, 2019 /CNW/ - zenGOT, the on-demand platform that connects people with vetted home service providers, has opened the door to investment for growth. Launched in 2018, the company has connected thousands of users across Canada and was dubbed "the Uber of home services" by the Vancouver Sun.
zenGOT is making a name for itself by offering a fast and easy way to book a vetted pro for services such as cleaning, errands, yard work and handy work. Customers can book services instantly through zenGOT's website or App.
According to Co-Founder Catherine Goulet , the company's vision is to democratize home services: "Consider house cleaning, for example - our platform takes this vastly desirable service and makes it an affordable essential. That's the beauty of the sharing economy."
Goulet co-founded zenGOT after she found herself desperate for help around the home. The day after her ailing father-in-law passed away, her husband was diagnosed with cancer. With two teenage boys, a special-needs daughter and a mother-in-law needing more support than ever, Catherine needed help from someone she could trust. Fortunately, she received support from a young woman who had become a trusted family friend.
After her experience, Catherine teamed up to build a marketplace for getting things done, from people you can trust. "We wanted to give customers the peace of mind they would get from a personal referral, while accessing a range of services and professionals." Goulet says zenGOT's system of ratings and reviews gives customers that assurance and keeps behaviour in check.
According to zenGOT's Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Jenkins , the platform's secret sauce is its rigorous onboarding which includes a comprehensive background check, mandatory orientation and an interview with a staff member. "This focus on vetting has given zenGOT a significant competitive edge. The success rates are remarkable: over 90% of customer ratings are 5 star," says Jenkins.
The company has onboarded a foothold of service providers in key Canadian markets, including Toronto , Vancouver and Calgary . Delivering on the promise of top-performing, vetted service providers, zenGOT recently attracted several major property management and real estate brands for national strategic alliances. Announcements are planned later this year.
With service providers at work in major Canadian cities and alliances budding, the zenGOT team has its sights set on the next phase of growth. "We've onboarded thousands of top-notch service providers and built this robust technology platform that customers love. We're now ready to invest in large-scale customer acquisition," says Jenkins.
zenGOT is engaging with venture capital firms and angel investors to secure investment and expedite growth. The company also continues to align with national brands and parties that want to participate in the company's growth through alliances or strategic acquisition.
zenGOT is an easy to use, on-demand platform that matches customers with trusted, qualified and affordable service providers for home services which include cleaning, yard work, handy work, errands, organizing and more.
