PLANO, Texas (AP) _ Zoe's Kitchen Inc. (ZOES) on Thursday reported a fourth-quarter loss of $501,000, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
The Plano, Texas-based company said it had a loss of 3 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for pretax gains, were 7 cents per share.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 6 cents per share.
The fast-casual restaurant chain posted revenue of $62 million in the period, which also missed Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $62.3 million.
For the year, the company reported profit of $1.8 million, or 9 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $276 million.
Zoe's expects full-year revenue in the range of $325 million to $327 million.
Zoe's shares have dropped slightly more than 6 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $22.46, a decline of 23 percent in the last 12 months.
