Ariel Castro was sentenced to life in prison plus

1,000 years after pleading guilty to 937 counts in a deal

that spared him the death penalty. He  kidnapping three women and kept them — sometimes

restrained in chains — along with a 6-year-old girl he fathered with

one of them. Castro is accused of imprisoning Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight in his Cleveland, Ohio, home for years.
