Beijing Energy Holding Co., Ltd. -- Moody's revises Beijing Energy's outlook to stable from negative; affirms A3 rating

Moody's expects the segment to benefit from higher electricity sales from new generation units over the next 12-18 months, which will be partly offset by higher coal prices and lower realized tariffs as more electricity is sold under market-based power sales. In addition, BEIH, formerly known as Panda Green Energy Group Limited and 32% owned by BEH, benefits from the latter's financial support and better debt repayment terms. Moody's expects BEIH's operations to continue to improve over the next 12-18 months through synergies with, and operational support from, BEH.These synergies include the fact that BEIH's solar power project portfolio will diversify BEH's overall fuel mix, and provide a cushion against the cyclical nature of coal-fired generation because of fluctuations between on-grid tariffs and coal prices. Moreover, Moody's expects BEH will use BEIH as one of its renewable power expansion platforms in the future, as it works towards achieving its strategic target of having its renewable power account for no less than 50% of its generation capacity by the end of the 14th Five-Year period in 2025.
