Taiwan’s central bank, fearful of being labelled a currency manipulator by U.S. President Donald Trump, has pulled back on intervention to weaken the Taiwan dollar, making it Asia's second best-performing currency in 2017. Contract chipmaker TSMC is due to issue its outlook for the fourth quarter after the market closes and is also expected to post a record high quarterly profit for the third quarter, analysts said. Shares in TSMC and Largan were each trading over 1 percent lower.
