    TEDxJaksonville 2017: Saving pedestrians

TEDxJacksonville recently revealed its lineup of speakers and musical performers for the 2017 Conference on Oct. 14 at the Florida Theatre from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Speakers are coming from around the country, but Jacksonville local Jaimison Sloboden has a message with direct implications for the city. A civil engineer with almost 25 years of experience, Sloboden is well aware of Jacksonville's most notorious traffic problem: pedestrian and bicyclist safety. Florida has been the deadliest state in the nation for pedestrians the last four years, and Jacksonville had the second most pedestrian fatalities in the state last year .
