    Committee zeroes in on apples-to-apples comparisons for KCI terminal

    A selection committee tasked with recommending one of four competing development teams for the job of designing, building and privately financing a new one-terminal Kansas City International Airport is closing in on an apples-to-apples comparison of financing proposals. The committee was to continue working with advisers on Monday to review the proposals, said Jermaine Reed, chairman of the council's Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

    Fruit references fly in debate about KCI terminal team selection process

    A lot of fruit references were flying during discussion of the Kansas City International Airport terminal developer competition on Wednesday. Another city official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, found no problem with the selection committee’s follow-up questions and said AECOM’s protest could be an attempt to intimidate city officials and/or to set the stage for a future legal challenge if its team is not selected.
