So, current estimates show analysts expecting ACT to earn over $3/share/year…and those could get raised.

Then, as ACT and other insurance companies many times trade on a price to book ratio, that would mean the share price of ACT should rise at nearly that amount less dividends to keep the same price to book ratio around 1.0 (or 0.9x).

Now, I would expect the analysts to perhaps raise their annual earnings estimates over $3.50/year so that just means the return on ACT should be around $3.50/year by a combination of share price plus dividend. At a share price of $25, that would be an annual return on investment of $3.50/$25 = 14% which is a good return and with limited downside.

The upside could be that mortgage applications rose last week, ACT has loan reserves that can still be reversed, etc., etc.

I know that bid/ask spreads on stocks like ACT can be pretty wide so it can be hard to know the actual trading level. If anyone is interested, I was able to sell ACT 1/20/2023 $30.00 Calls for $1.10 today.

Housing prices still moving up and interest rates on U.S. 10 and 30 year bonds pulling back a recognizable amount (back toward 3%) -- what's not to like?

10 year US Bond Rate now down to 2.85%. Mortgage rates should follow bringing them back near 4.5% for a 30 year market. If housing prices continue to plateau or even pull back a bit (most estimates are for no more than 10% if we hit a recession), purchases of homes should begin to pick up.

I see 30 year mortgages are now 6%+. New mortgage applications are way down. Residental real estate prices are falling. How will this all impact Enact?

    Funny...

ACT generates 500M+ in net income every year and trades at MC = 3.3B

while RIVN generates ZERO revenue and trades at MC = 100B+...

Welcome to the new dot come era. As the saying goes, it's different this time...

In My eyes there is no difference, must be color blind...

Good Luck to all and do your due diligence always...

Disappointed they didn't announce a dividend policy just the special dividend - but it's a start.

After 3 weeks of trading here…why are there no options listed for trading? I realize the daily trading volume is lower…but aren’t Market Makers supposed to be ‘making a market’…which would seem to include options?

Of course, I’d prefer to know the dividend payment amount and date prior to taking any substantive position…but lets get some listed and going here.

Someone must have inside information on a dividend announcement.

that volume was impressive today and the pps shows it...

VERY light volume but initial trade seems to reflect disappointment that regular dividend will not be implemented until mid-year. Based on earnings and BV, the share price should be doing better compared to its competitors.

Should be up, up and away with next week's earnings report especially if they announce a regular dividend rate.

A cheaper way to buy ACT is by buying GNW - obviously - almost 20% discount !
