6.8.21 "AEP is cooperating fully with the SEC’s subpoena," the company said. "Although we cannot predict the outcome of the SEC’s inquiry, we do not believe the results of this inquiry will have a material impact on our financial condition, results of operations or cash flows."

Is it safe to say that AEP is a great long term investment due to the future upgrading power grid and needs of clean energy and EV ? imho

Just a post of my opinion (and it's worth nothing of course). But I sold off the entirety of my holdings in AEP. For a variety of reasons. I think there'll be a drop in the market this summer. (the old "sell in may" thing) and I'm not liking the trend in AEP's chart. The free cash flow seems to be bumpy and I think I'll just hold some cash right now.
    Good luck to you all.

AEP’s operation cash flow (+$3.1B) is insufficient for its capital expenditures (-$6.1B), and has 0 free cash flow (negative $3.0B). AEP also has a very low of 0.42 that is below its peers. AEP’s pay-out ratio is much above 60% of the dividend, nand not much dividend retention for growth.

Anyone have a clue why this is dropping today ?

Revs and earnings are good. Matched analyst expectations. Now the stock will drop with "sell on the news" mentality. Not for any good reason. AEP is solid. Keep collecting that div.

AEP’s current ratio is worrisome and below par with its peers.
