Why no website for this company?
Would it be fraudulent to repeatedly state in SEC filings, from the 2015 annual 10k on, "we are in discussions with a major defense contractor", if there really were no ongoing discussions?

Does anyone know of any other directed energy companies that might benefit from renewed spending in defense? Or any "picks and shovels" companies?
We might as well share info while we're waiting for something to happen in this company. Tia

You might think AERG would be an interesting company considering the environment in the Korean peninsula. There was even chatter about directed energy weapons as the ultimate defense against missiles.

It's been well over a year since they said they were going to be a real company that actually does something. One would think they would have given an update to their efforts by now if they were serious and reliable management.

    http://www.af.mil/About-Us/Biographies/Display/Article/105699/dr-laverne-vern-schlie/DR. LAVERNE "VERN" SCHLIE

Dr. LaVerne "Vern" Schlie, a member of the scientific and professional cadre of senior executives, is Senior Scientist for Laser Technology, Directed Energy Directorate, Air Force Research Laboratory, Air Force Materiel Command, Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M. He is responsible for planning, conducting and coordinating research in laser technology while serving as the principal scientific authority and independent researcher in the field of laser technology within the laboratory. Dr. Schlie is widely recognized in the laser community. He advises and directs many laser programs within the AFRL, and participates on many governmental committees for laser technology, and applications and effects with the departments of Defense and Energy, NASA and the National Science Foundation. He is a member of the scientific and professional cadre of senior executives.

Dr. Schlie is known for his work in high-energy laser technology developments and applications important to the Air Force. His diversified research group's laser efforts involves electric, chemical, photolytic, solid-state, and ultrashort fs and ps lasers; the associated areas of plasma physics, microwaves, high-voltage engineering, optics, chemical physics, fluid dynamics, cryogenics and laser-material interactions. In addition, he serves as adjunct physics professor at the University of New Mexico and the Air Force Institute of Technology, graduating more than 20 doctoral and graduate students. He has written more than 120 publications and presentations, and holds 14 patents. Dr. Schlie's research has resulted in major advances in photolytic iodine, electrical discharge lasers, chemical oxygen-iodine, carbon monoxide, excimer and fs-ultrashort laser technology. Many of his laser research advances and patents have been transferred to industry through cooperative research and development agreements, and small business innovative research and technology transfers.

Dr. Schlie's main efforts are directed toward integrating high-energy lasers and high-power microwaves into fighter aircraft, such as the F-15, F-16, F-18, F-22 and the Joint Strike Fighter, plus other air vehicle platforms for tactical applications. He initiated the study on Directed Energy Application for Tactical Airborne Combat, then served as technology adviser to the applications panel developing the use of various directed energy technologies for tactical uses on fighter aircraft to enhance the warfighter's capabilities for the 21st century. He led an integrated process study team on tactical high-energy laser fighters dealing with all aspects of the laser's integration and potential future use to the warfighter. He is the focal point for this activity within the AFRL. Also coupled to this effort are technologies of advanced sensors and aircraft self-defense, which utilize developments of compact, lightweight high-energy lasers.

And then there was this thing called "Sequestration" that stumbled the military's ability to progress forward in things like "Direct Energy Warfare".

I am always amazed when people who claim to not own stock in a company continue to post on their board....making every attempt to discredit any real news or any person associated with it. What would drive a person to do this? A great guy/gal looking out for all of us "unwise" investors? Perhaps an Investment God??

I'm good with posting things that are current about this stock and giving credit to those smart enough to develop such technologies. Wouldn't it be nice if all could do this same?

The pumpers narrative in a nutshell: A) an enormous market for laser weapons B) this company has intellectual property needed for such weapons.
Yet, for years it trades at pennies a share with no apparent interest from large defense corporations in taking control of this supposedly vital IP when it would cost them so little?

Years ago AERG/Ionatron boasted on their website the directed energy weapons market would be $12.7 billion in 10 years. Once Jim Cramer mentioned it as a hail Mary play. Ten years passed, the market is smaller and AERG's share of said market is zilch, but pumpers are still pushing that hail Mary.

The previous owner sold this patent to a "private company". One like McCahon's, perhaps? If you read the description of this patent in full, you will see Applied Energetics noted, along with McCahon. Could it be possible that the advanced version of LGE is one in the same?

AERG has apparently completed funding...which is why it is no longer a "shell".....

    From recent S-1 filed:

Applied Energetics, Inc., or the “Company” and “Selling Stockholders” named in this prospectus are offering to sell up to an aggregate of 99,000,000 shares of the Company’s common stock as follows:

    (i) 50,000,000 shares to be sold by the Company,
(ii) 5,500,000 shares originally issued to a founder of the Company and
(iii) 43,500,000 shares issued in private placement financings for cash and services provided to the Company.

    Competition

AERG’s proprietary LIPC based LGE technology is a unique directed energy weapon, with products that can be integrated onto platforms being developed for use by the U.S. Government. In the fiscal year 2013, five major defense contractors, Boeing, United Defense, Northrop/Grumman, L-3 Communications Holdings, Inc. and Lockheed Martin, received about $80 billion for weapons manufacturing and development. These contractors specialize in different DE weapon system platforms and have had discussions with AERG to utilize LGE technology. Although AERG competes against other weapon systems for funding, the uniqueness of the LGE technology should continue to support its development into weapon platform programs. AERG like many other small defense contractors was adversely affected by cut backs in U.S. Government spending after 2011. AERG believes that there is renewed U.S. Government interest in DE and its LGE technology and believes that continued development of its LIPC technology and growing interest from all branches of the U.S. armed forces and other government agencies will lead to increases in government spending on LGE weaponry in the coming years. (See Recent Congressional Activity on Directed Energy Weapons below.)

Furthermore, AERG’s only direct LGE competition is foreign governments, China, Russia and the European Community, attempting to develop similar technologies. AERG believes that such foreign activity will create additional U.S. Government funding for LGE in order to maintain our country’s lead in directed-energy weapons.

AERG’s biggest commercial competitors are Trumpf (German), Rofin-Sinar (just purchased by Coherent, US), Coherent (US), and IPG (US), all billion dollar market class companies that have substantially more resources than AERG.

Hard to put much faith in the existence of an advisory board (likely paid with salary and or stock) as the PHD's and generals that were on their board of directors previously meant nothing. They even had a NASA astronaut, Gen McDivitt, from the Apollo, Gemini missions on board for awhile. Stock ended up being delisted and selling for a few cents pps.

This company has been promising to develop laser products for many years and nothing has come of it. There are many articles online from more than a decade ago touting things like laser weapons and ray guns. Hard to believe that McCahon and Farley are now senior citizens and still trying to get taxpayer money.

AERG announced they won't be a shell company and it only goes up a few pennies? They have no credibility with investors. New advisory board can't erase McCahon and AERG's long history of failure.
