"Akamai Technologies posted better-than-expected third-quarter results, driven by continued strong growth in the company’s security segment."
and the stock does not move.... What is wrong Akami?

Seeing dislocation as opportunity is the very business of investing. Lots of ignorance below in negative comments. I offer the following: During the feverish times of new startups and endless funding, small companies are judged not on losses but on customer/revenue growth. Often trading one for the other, or buying revenue with loss making deals. This works for a short time, perhaps another funding round, but fails quickly and if the funding climate returns to normal, an extinction or asset buyout ensues. So, well-funded startups are taking small bites out of some of AKAM's market leading position until the money runs out. Some of these ticker tape darlings with several times the P/E of AKAM, can fit their server footprint into a single medium sized moving van- as compared to AKAM's global perimeter footprint carrying a significant portion of the internet - never mind the 25 years of accumulated labor of hundreds of MIT PhDs constantly expanding utility and optimizing latency. As example, if we compare a packet-switched network to parcel delivery, and the tcp/ip stack to the truck-highway and rail and air transport stack, all other companies use road-only transport - first mile pickup, long-haul and last mile delivery -all on a truck- whereas AKAM has replaced the TCP layer to a custom fully optimized purpose-built solution - like airfreight - such that a truck is used last mile/first mile for pickup and delivery but the middle mile/longhaul is the nearest airport. My math is so bad that I couldn't even get a job at AKAM so correct me if I'm wrong, but if they make numbers (and they seem to have a long track record of accuracy in and out of recessions) and they deserve and are awarded with the same P/E next year as they have this year, doesn't that equate to a 70% gain in the share price? Along with the low-risk and comfort of solid longterm diversified market leading customer base and enduring profit? If we divide the multitude of so-called cloud players into computation and transport. Transport seems to remain a profitable permanent challenge whereas computation- giant centralized storage/compute farms - seem to be a temporary problem. Compare Moore's law with the speed of light- one has improved and one has not. AKAM is far far ahead in the business of transport while the 800lb gorillas of compute farms are only as relevant as the recency of their investment hardware. Computation may be as free as 5G airwaves soon but the achievement of tens or single digit latency may be the crucial enablement threshold for meta/VR applications. This shimmering goldrush is just the latest in a string of markets owned - CDN, edge apps, video delivery and recently a comprehensive set of security protections. Compare AKAM to Cisco in the mid-nineties- a broad spectrum market leader with enormous power in reserve- not a niche player.

boring oscillation between 95 and 105. What is wrong with the great company? Very reserved, boring CEO - can someone after 20 years replace him.

Well, about 9 months ago I urged all on this board to get out and make gains in other places in the market. Now I am back and am looking to buy back into AKAM. This is a solid company that held up during the worst market conditions of Covid. I will be buying over the next month or so and I would recommend you all add as well. GL, B

This stock should pay a dividend because it does nothing. Buy at 94, sell a few months later and repeat. Will never break out…

Where have you been that you are surprised? It would not matter if they had a 200% increase in revenues and EPS, and a 100% margin increase on top of that...this is a bum stock and proof that fundamentals don't matter in this circus.

This is typical behavior for the Akamai stock price. It usually goes up before its earnings report. Then posts excellent earnings. Initially it then goes down because some are not convinced the earnings are truly spectacular. Then it slowly begins to rise again as it gets upgraded by the big brokerage houses.
