Astellas Pharma Inc. (TSE: 4503, President and CEO: Kenji Yasukawa, Ph.D., "Astellas") today announced Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) has granted priority review for the company's New Drug Application (NDA), which was submitted in March. If approved, enfortumab vedotin would be the first antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) available in Japan for the treatment of patients with locally advanced or metastatic urothelial cancer that has progressed after anti-cancer medication.

Men diagnosed with mHSPC tend to have a poor prognosis, with a median survival of approximately 3-4 years,1 underscoring the need for new treatment options.

(Nasdaq:SGEN) today announced the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) filed two supplemental Biologics License Application (sBLA) submissions for PADCEV® (enfortumab vedotin-ejfv) for review as part of the Real-Time Oncology Review (RTOR) pilot program. The applications were granted Priority Review, with a target action date of August 17, 2021. The review of both applications will also be conducted under Project Orbis, an initiative of the FDA Oncology Center of Excellence.
