AMC has close to $5,000,000,000 in debt, recently taking on $1,500,000,000 more debt.

Dividend will be cut within the next three months.

    Nothing to see here...

Dividend now 8%. Management says going to increase this too. So maybe more. AMC still a cash cow. Stock buybacks too. People still go to movies. Many have new recliner seats. Perfect to bring your a date you hardly know. Can't bring her home. Who wants to talk on a date. You want to touch. In an almost lying down position, hope she's wearing a miniskirt.

Cool and dark will reclining seats -- the hand is getting higher and higher...

Movies going away? I don't think so. Much cheaper than hotels!

Watching Star Wars 3d without a huge screen does not have the same effect on tablets. Award for special effects wouldn't really make applicable sense on your smartphone. The Movie theater industry will never be obsolete.

SHORT SQUEEZE-- 23% of float is short -- can jump 40 to 50% in a day on a short squeeze. Any positive piece of news can trigger reaction

Bought 4,000 at $12.17. I didn't care. Stock was $21 on August 1st. I didn't think the entire movie industry was going down the toilet in 3 weeks. What changed in 3 weeks that caused a 43% drop in the stock?

I'll tell you: it's the media; the business news. That Apple was even mulling with Hollywood and other negative news -- all supported by wrong betters and the paid analysts.

I bucked it. Looking at an 8% div with hundreds of millions targeted for stock buybacks, how can you lose. If you listened to the cc a few weeks ago, the dividend was talked about and considered to increase it. With future div increases and stock buybacks equals shareholder value.

I didn't want to add more than 4,000 shares in the event the stock sinks to $11 or $10, in which case, I would add yet more.

Looking at the line up for the rest of the year I think Q3 will be fairly flat but Q4 will see a big come back with Thor, Justice League, and Star Wars. I think selling around New Years will be a good return.

Brick and mortar is poison. When you see high end retailers leave a mall and those "Lucky Bamboo" Oriental gift stores and "massage chair" and nail salon places start moving in, it's Game Over for that mall and it takes movie theaters down with it.

I been saying this for years that you can't let happen to the movie industry what technology did to the music business. It will dilute the product so that the quality of movies will go down(why would you want them to get any worse than they are now). Paying say $6 dollars or maybe $7 is fine for the price of a movie ticket. The experience of going to the movies is worth this even if the movie turns out to be a dud(most of them are).

Down another 5%, this after I just doubled down yesterday. Is this short selling again or longs giving up.

I'm listening to the cc as I write. CEO buying still -- feels positive.

I may may to average down yet again!! What a sell off in last 5 days

The AMC theater in Aventura, Florida (Miami) is so disgusting that I am shocked the health department has not shut them down. The food service area has dirt, food, spilled drinks, cockroaches all over the place. Nobody tending to the mess, the just let it fester I guess until the end of the night. Would not be surprised if they did even disinfect the place. Couple that with rude people in the theater and that makes "wait for it to be on Netflix" sound all the better.

Nothing like taking your date for the first time to a movie house and watching her get into that almost fully reclining seat in a cool dark movie house. Is she pulling her miniskirt down a little? You can't wait to move your hand up her leg... see how far she lets you go.

This is the true excitement in life. Not being married to your wife of 10 years who gained 75 pounds after spitting out 2 kids and living in a somewhat comfortable house. A wife who became a deuce who can no longer be on top. The responsibility of 2 kids takes up a lot of time.

Actually, marriage could never work for me. Does it work for you? I can't see it working for me. I never got the urge, you know? A lot of great-looking women in the world. I never met one made me wanna give up all the others.

No. I would prefer to take a hot date (or not so hot) to a movie cinema with a fully reclining seat. It's dark and cool, she's sporting a miniskirt. Where would you rather be -- with a 200 pound wife or on that date?

This would be the nail in the coffin. Shares of movie theater chains stumbled out of the gate on Friday. AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. (AMC) stock fell more than 5% in morning trade, leading the film exhibitor group down. Shares of Regal Entertainment Group(RGC) were down 4%, Cinemark Holdings Inc.(CNK) shares fell more than 2% and shares of Marcus Corp.(MCS) fell nearly 2%. B. Riley analyst Eric Wold pointed to a Bloomberg report that Apple Inc.(AAPL) and Hollywood studios were mulling the possibility of moving forward with a premium video on demand format, releasing new films just weeks after they open in theaters. Cinema chains have been opposed to this model, which would shrink the exclusive window of time where films can only be seen in theaters.

The empty theater experience: I went to see Dunkirk opening night in Manhattan. I was pretty surprised when I realized there were only 2 other people in the theater when the previews began. I figured reserved sitting was the reason and people would start showing up. Didn't happen. I'd say the theater was about 20% occupied when the movie began. May the $16 ticket price? Maybe people just aren't going to the movies like they used too. Maybe both. Millennials attitude is why go to the movies. They see everything for free or very little $ in due course. I think the exception will be Star Wars. The problem is there are only so many Star Wars type movies and so many theaters that are empty. I don't see this getting better.

Div not only safe but will increase, management said. Continue to buy back stock. CEO has bought a lot with personal money and will buy more with personal money in direct buy in market. Listen to 2 hour conference call a few weeks ago

With reclining seats, you don't go there to watch a movie. You go there to take your date. Hope she's wearing a miniskirt.
