I just read, IMO, a decent overview on AMT via Seeking Alpha.
Not necessarily what you might want to read, as the author makes some compelling comments about AMT being overvalued--it's a pretty thorough analysis.

Reinvesting distributions slightly placates having a lower share price...

AMT best tweet of the day:

    Jonathan Litt - L&B @JonLitt ·2h
Cell tower REIT $AMT signed an MLA (Master Lease Agreement) with T-Mobile signaling the real kick-off to the 5G wars and what we believe should be another decades-long period of strong growth for cellular towers.

Another dividend increase announced yesterday. Growth and return continue. An increase despite the Covid crisis hitting many companies.

10 points up today. That's a good day's work. No doubt in my mind that we will make new highs.

AMT is a great early play for 5G, especially with the newly signed MLA! I've had this company for YEARS!

    Another executive departure:

"CyrusOne taps American Tower's Motlagh as new chief financial officer"

"CyrusOne (NASDAQ:CONE) has elected Katherine Motlagh as executive VP and chief financial officer."

"Motlagh is currently CFO for Europe, Africa and Latin America at American Tower (NYSE:AMT). She had previously served in leadership roles at Ericsson and Nokia."

From Seeking Alpha; I'd post the link, but I did that yesterday multiple times on another board and you guessed it--none stuck. (Thanks Y.F.)

Been here as a holder since AMT was 13. Have not posted in a while as the stock has been quiet. This is typical over all that time - periods of dormancy then a strong upward move. As long as the dividend is increased every QUARTER, sell at your own risk. I can't see any trigger today other than some technical nonsense, but I'll take it.

Dividend increase and a strong 3Q will send this higher. AMT will benefit from the weak dollar

Be patient and buy more at these levels. All we need is a catalyst and it will explode higher. Remember back at the end of May we shot from $228 to $265 in 1 week off of a single upgrade from Oppenheimer. It can happen again.

I just glanced at the Gurufocus piece...
Akre Capital Management sold 3690 AMT shares during Q2, or 0.05% of its position leaving it with 7,037,939 shares. File under micro managing?

Accumulate more at these levels. It was $267 less than a week ago after the T-Mobile deal was announced and there has been no new news since. Money managers are selling this for the new IPOs. Once they are flipped the money will come right back

AMT has been laying dormant for almost exactly 1 year ago today. Ya think perhaps it just might be starting to wake up from that long hibernation.

Here's an interesting article about the industry:

    https://www.reit.com/news/reit-magazine/july-august-2020/sba-communications-poised-future-growth

"Spencer Kurn, who leads coverage of U.S. towers for New Street Research, notes that for T-Mobile to migrate all of Sprint’s customers onto its own network, it will have to deploy all of Sprint’s spectrum onto its towers. “In the next five years, tower companies are going to get way more revenue from all of this activity than they otherwise would have. There’s virtually no prospect of a loss of revenue from taking down Sprint equipment for at least five years—a lifetime for an investor,” he says."
