New to APA. Just bought 6,000 shares (sold NIO) at $26.80 earlier today. Down 43 cents at the moment, however I feel very good about next week and the next few months. Oil continues it's march upward.

When it breaks through 27.44 that will be a new 52 week high... it should soar to 34$ from there. APA is in a sweet spot for the next decade.

    OIL PRICES GOING UP

For those of you who are thinking APA has gotten ahead of itself, just think of what it will be if oil hits 100. Just because a stock goes up 10% in a few days does not mean it’s gotten ahead of itself if the fundamentals are what is pushing it. I was thinking about selling at 30, but that is out the window now because oil is so strong and natural gas is even stronger. Going into a winter with short supplies on hand and very little in storage spells nothing but dollar signs. Get on the train it’s leaving the station!

APA reported their Q3 prices, which were solid, especially for N.A. nat gas ($3.70/mmbtu). Alpine High is massively profitable at current gas and NGL prices. The play was written-off because gas was sub-$1.00/mmbtu for years due to lack of gas pipelines. Hello?? $1.00 vs. $3.00 - That kinda makes a huge difference. Capital discipline does not have to be dogmatic. I want APA to add an additional 2 rigs - 1 rig to drill Alpine High (which only kinda keeps production flat in 2022) and hopefully 1 rig for its new Austin Chalk play (where they are only drilling a handful of wells). I am hearing great wells throughout the Austin Chalk. If that all adds up to around $1.8 billion in CAPEX that is not a problem to me. Sure would be up like $0.7B from 2021, but APA is unhedged and its cash flow will be well north of $4B at strip so FCF of over $2B in 2022 with production growth in mid-single digits.

It always scares me when everybody is so positive on a sector. Holding all my oil still but my hand is getting tired. My gains on paper are big. I hate to lose even a nickel of em!

APA North Sea gas - In Q2 APA produced 36,769 mmbtu/d (6,128 BOEs/d) which is only 1.5% of total production. But when gas price goes from $8.10/mmbtu in Q2 to now $30/mmbtu that delta is an eye-popping $72 mm of more cash flow for a quarter period! But that is juts a start. You see propane and ethane prices? They have more than doubled since Q2! At current spot prices APA's quarterly free cash flow is MORE THAN DOUBLE its Q2 free cash flow. It is insane! APA should be $50 NOW!

Very interesting comments on Suriname on oilnow.gy from TotalEnergies CEO Patrick Pouyanne.

“We would like to be able to launch as quickly as possible a first oil development in order to gain some revenues, but today the gas content of what we discovered is quite high, so the question is what do we do with this natural gas. There is maybe the same point with Guyana. The domestic market could exist but are limited.

We must continue to appraise, to explore, we still have very interesting targets on both sides, and I hope at the end of 2022 we’ll have made a large inventory of all the resources and then we’ll able to engage with the countries on a solution. There is No way for TotalEnergies to flare the gas. We’ll have to find a way to valorize the gas”

So the pro is that TotalEnergies is still very bullish on Suriname and as written some weeks ago, 2 exploration wells will be drilled now. The article still confirms decision of first FID by end of this year, although above is not as bullish notes due to the gas ratio aspect, as it could (but not necessarily the case) be understood that a FID decision will not be taken until a solution has been found on the gas, so decision will move into 2022. This could be the reason why not a value is included to APA in target prices by analysts.

Looking at today’s action compared to other Oilers, I would say the numbers are out and the leaks have started

I bought this around $8 back in April 2020, half the time I forget I even still have it. What is my point? Just hold and you'll be fine. Nice to see it finally broke out of the low 20s.

On track to reach $40 by end of December and no thats not being optimistic, thats just being realistic.

Valuation wise, APA is still in the lower range and there is a lot of delta between them and the other US majors.

Those who have been sitting on the sidelines regarding APA, the longer you wait the more you will lose out if you don't hop on.

Didn't your model state 16? Now it's 20? That miss is a 25% gain for everyone who ignored you. And from 16 to 25 is a 55% gain to everyone who didn't listen to your model.

APA has been a laggard during this oil updraft. If you layout a 2 yr chart and compare with similar companies you will see that the only worse performer is OXY. My opinion is that there is a lot more upside for APA. Not only does it need to catch up to the price of oil, it needs to catch up to its peers. Many oilers have made moves that might leave little upside but APA could still be a double.

No complaints at all, but not sure why APA doing so much better than other E&Ps today - OXY, its closest comp is down?
