This may be the easiest money in the market right now. Buy this dip at market open! This is a long term winner!

How is it that the P/E ratio of this stock is sitting at a 4 when it consistently beats earnings. Look at other retail stocks trading at much higher multiples!

24% short float on May 13 according to Yahoo. Big short covering rally today on ASO by close? 15%?

ASO sells guns, DKS does not.

this stock looks great on paper yet it just keeps falling, what are we missing here?

That was easy... bought 10.5K worth of shares yesterday at 27/shr and it's already up by 11%. I was actually hoping to have put in 30K for a full position over the next two quarters since I was assuming negative sentiment from forward guidance through DKS and ASO earnings to pull the share price down and that I'm not going to catch the bottom. Oh well.

I am tempted to buy some calls. I think we could have a short covering rally ahead of earnings.

About 8 months ago a private hedge fund named KKR started selling shares. They purchased back in 2011 and then took it public. Didn't make sense considering the state of the market, sales, earnings, analysis reports etc. etc. We were going to the moon. I have had this stock since then and believed its potential. I did my due diligence and was content. After 40 years of trading I forgot one important thing, markets cycle. We had a 10 year bull run and thought it wouldn't end. Shame on me. So here we are, Stuck in the middle and know where to go. I don't care what future numbers are coming. Until this Bear market finishes this stock could go anywhere. Keep buying dips to cost average down. That doesn't always work. The big boys can destroy us retail boys, because they control the market and have endless capital.Right before the great depression a man named Joe Kennedy shorted the market. People could not believe it. Later on they came to him for capital. Please be careful, we are just hard working men, who are just looking to get ahead. Nothing more than these pricks would like to bury us. GLTA.

Does anyone believe that it is possible for ASO to have strong earnings and a decent outlook, knowing what we now know about #$%$ and other retailers? Also, is it possible that the stock price has been sold down to a level that it won't decline much further even if the outlook is soft?

I bought 1/3rd position worth 10500k at 27. Market cap of 2.25B, PS of 0.35, Forward PE of 3.6, Trailing PE of 3.8.

Expecting it to go lower if there's a recession or guidance worsens after earnings but I'll dump the next 1/3rd after we're off by 20% from my cost basis and the final 1/3rd if it's 40% below my cost price. Plan to hold this for atleast 10 years.

after 30% drop you would think bad earnings for DKS are priced in, but no, of course aso drops another 10% on bad DKS earnings and will probably drop another next week.....I will hold this and I will buy more I am going down with thing if I have to

I am a former store manager for Academy. I'll be the first to say they could do a lot of things better. BUT, they are not walmart. They do not have super low margin groceries. Gun and ammo sales are very strong, and many of the brands are their own, reducing costs greatly. They have a very saleable product mix. IMHO they are going to beat earnings by a ton (again).

I’m buying. Will buy more next week and next month as well. Company is in great shape. Anyone remember the recent small dividend? “Know what you own”. Parking lots were packed at the locations in Georgetown AND Galveston TX. People here spending $$$. Memorial Day weekend coming up, ASO has BBQ pitts and accessories, pop up tents, pool stuff, everything you need for a great weekend. With my own 2 eyes I’m not seeing sales being impacted at the current
