Shares of Asure Software Inc. soared 29% in active premarket trading Tuesday, after the cloud platform company announced the sale of its workspace management business in an asset and equity deal valued at $120 million. Trading volume topped 543,000 shares, compared with the full-day average of about 142,000 shares. The company said late Monday it is selling the business to FM:Systems, in a deal expected to close in 45 to 60 days. "This strategic move allows Asure to be laser-focused on our [Human Capital Management] business," said Asure Chief Executive Pat Goepel. "This transaction bolsters Asure's capital structure as we plan to pay down the majority of our debt. It also increases our mix of recurring revenue to over 90%." Asure's stock has tumbled 32.2% over the past three months through Monday, while the S&P 500 has lost 1.3%.
