Zinga's deal is officially expected to clear by end of June in about 5-6 weeks, but it may be cleared earlier, potentially by end of May. ATVI could jump in its wake.

I remember when the Microsoft deal was announced and people abandoned ATVI because it would take a year for the deal to close - with people running to what they thought would be "greener pastures". I stayed with ATVI, the largest holding in my portfolio. And I'm happy I did. In a bear market you need a return OFF your capital and not a return ON capital. Long and strong on ATVI.

The risk of Feds stopping this deal is diminishing. Discount to acquisition price is too large IMO

If the Microsoft buyout doesn't happen, Buffett (Berkshire) will buy the company for diversification purposes... he doesn't do deals on a "gamble"...

FTC has no grounds to block the deal on it being anticompetitive. US has over 2,300 development companies and over 525 publishing companies. Post-acquisition, MSFT will be third largest after Tencent and Sony.

I added 500 shares in past day, including at yesterday's close. The mkt is wrong about this one. MSFT will prevail, and it will close sooner than most people believe.

Surprised by the negativity... Two points: 1) MSFT gets ATVI's $9B+ in annual revenue ($3B net income). Then MSFT will mass-layoff ATVI's nonessential workers and keep the game development teams, driving up margins to book as much of the $9B in net income as possible. 2) American regulators will not hurt an American company that would be #3 in gaming, behind Sony (Japanese) and Tencent (Chinese). MSFT is an Enterprise software company so acquiring gaming data will not hurt consumers. Key point: there may be some posturing and some near term institutional price manipulation to get the price down so that they can get in, but this deal is going through. Shorts are just playing with fire here...

The price for Activision for Microsoft is money MSFT finds under the couch cushions. MSFT doesnt tend to back out of acquisitions. ie nokia, linked in, ..... Once they buy ATVI they can bring the developers over to the campus, remove the overhead, etc. this deal will go through

ATVI shareholders approve the merger. Over 98% voted for it.

Funny, the talk about earnings miss. Who cares? It's all about the deal going through and getting a 20% profit from the transaction.

Today, other game companies are 2-7% in the red. We are on a market downturn, ATVI is one safe island in that mess.

HIMX declared a $1.25 dividend and is an $8 stock, w/PE of 3!!! Displays, chips, drivers….huge growth -auto, cells, tvs, etc etc… this is the next TSM! Could be bought out.

To those believing MSFT M&A closing history ensures a 99% sure thing on ATVI closing subscribe to rear view mirror investing... ignoring the current landscape. It is significantly < than 99%.

Even if USG allows it, EU and other Gov'ts must approve... and they don't hum to MSFTs timeline. Hence, could be a long drawn out closing. So, you might want to surface from grandma's basement to see what big money is thinking. Otherwise, you're destined for a longer prison sentence!
