No comments in 23 days for this oil and gas gem. So I just looked at the closing price for BCEI on the first day of trading each month in 2021.

    Jan. 4 $20.05
    Feb. 1 $21.39
    Mar. 1 $32.26
    Apr. 1 $38.25
    May 3 $33.78
    Jun. 1 $45.07
    Jun. 4 $47.22

That looks like a YTD gain of 135% in 6 months but nobody seems to care. The 5 analysts following the company project 2021 earnings of $5.95 (P/E of 7.9) and 2022 earnings of $7.10 (P/E of 6.6). I suspect those estimates are probably low because of the current price of oil and nat. gas, and also because of the pending merger with XOG. Now we also have a nice dividend of $1.40 and that will climb to $1.60 after the merger. I guess the institutions have figured out that this is a great investment but the retail community not so much. My only regret is that I did not buy more shares earlier this year.

Just read the XOG-BCEI Merger presentation and in my opinion there is a lot to like about this deal despite the multiple law firms searching for some bucks on the deal. So basically the new company will have about 60 million shares outstanding and will pay a $1.60 annual dividend. They are projecting $485 million in FCF for 2021 which is about $8 per share. They intend to use about 50% of the FCF to invest in production and development. That leaves about $150 million of cash available after also paying the dividend. Seems like they will have a great deal of flexibility to retire debt, buy back stock, or look for additional opportunities. The slide #15 is quite interesting because it shows all the private oil companies surrounding their properties. It seems quite logical that their next step would be to work some consolidation deals with a few of these outfits, especially those holding property in the rural areas next to their properties. I like where they are going with this plan. Already have a sizeable profit on BCEI and will hold while they continue to grow the business and return cash to shareholders. I think the financials related to XOG-BCEI are conservative and there is a lot of room to grow the business in a fairly short time frame.

does no one read or research anymore?

those who are saying the companies dead etc...

merger agreement 11.9.2020 with Bonanza Creek $BCEI still in affect regardless of chapter 11 filing as off recent.

    100 shares of $HPR = 11.4 shares of $BCEI

current market places value of about 100x$6.5= 650
    11.4x$32.47 = 370

so while terrible conversion based off current values, as of this moment - any "bag holders" of HPR still have an opportunity for long term growth with BCEI.

BCEI is in the early stages of being a cash flow machine. New estimate is for $150 FCF for 2021. That is about $5.00 per share based on the new share count. They will have enough to start paying back the debt inherited from the HPR merger and still have enough to start a stock buyback or start paying cash dividends. I think the next interesting thing to watch is CVX. They have already purchased Noble Energy and they now are close to completing a merger with Noble Midstream Partners. Once that deal is done I think CVX might go after BCEI. The merger makes perfect sense. They would immediately become the 2nd largest footprint in the DJ Basin behind OXY and they already have the infrastructure in place to drive down operating costs. Just sometime to watch once BCEI gets their operations optimized. One of the least followed stocks in the oil and gas sector but it has significant upside even from here.

Very nice to see a "bit of sanity" returning to trading action on BCEI and other small E&Ps.today as oilprice pushes up well past $57, and probably much higher if more clarity about further softening of the US-China trade war occurs. It's also likely that the significantly slower oil production latter half of this year, plus renewed commitment in Dec. by Saudi/OPEC coalition to maintain (or increase?) production cuts will take WTI oilprice over $60, maybe to $65 or $70 level.

At $65/barrel, there's no reason BCEI shouldn't be trading up in high $20s or low $30s again.

It is amazing what a good price BCEI appears to be. Many energy related stocks right now are low priced. But BCEI is special as it has low debt and nice growth. This seem like a perfect stock to buy at this price for the conservative investor, especially anywhere below $18, but the current $18.35 per share is a great price, too.

Just buy and sell as it rises and falls. $18 now. Sell at $25, buy at . . .

    BCEI: $18.35 close
MDR: $1.67 close (a more risky stock that I have a big position on. Big stakes, high risk)

Great adjusted EPS number-- $1.48, much higher than the consensus 1.19 number estimated before the ER report for Q1. Guiding for even lower costs going forward in 2019 after already lowering LOEs. The derivatives non-cash loss shouldn't ding the stock trading action. Expecting revised higher EPS estimates by analysts going forward. Will be interesting to hear more commentary on the CC tomorrow a.m.

Good earnings report. No negative surprises that I picked up on. They are on the path to make decent money, and unlike most EP companies, this company is not saddled with lots of debt. Hopefully, the price of WTI oil will not crash as they are getting about $6/bbl less than that. The derivatives added nicely to earnings this quarter. Earnings were $1.99/share and of that, $0.42 was from the derivatives. That means they earned $1.57, adjusted, which is $0.06 better than estimated.

Closed regular trading before earnings release at $20.59.

I'm super long and bullish on $CPE and $LPI. Anyone here also long $BCEI? Or have any thoughts on how it compares to CPE or LPI?

More local control to the rural, energy friendly Weld County, has no impact on BCEI, but while the new regs were being hashed about, what little energy investors were left, stayed away. In the meantime, BCEI earned $1.56/shr in Q1-19 when WTI averaged $54/bbl. Hopefully, WTI can average $65/bbl in Q2, which should allow them to earn $2.00/shr. WTI @ $70/bbl in Q3 should allow $2.50/CS making this well run
