Barclays Bank PLC (“Barclays”) announced today the launch of the first-ever no-fee exchange traded notes (ETNs), the iPath® Gold ETNs (Ticker:Ticker::GBUG) and the iPath® Silver ETNs (Ticker:Ticker::SBUG). “Since Barclays brought the first ETNs to the US market in 2006, we have been consistently focused on providing investors with innovative and efficient products,” said Ian Merrill, Managing Director and Head of US Equity Derivative Sales.
Barclays and leading global FinTech investor, Anthemis have today announced a partnership to co-launch a New York City-based studio targeting female entrepreneurs to establish sustainable, valuable FinTech businesses. Despite female-founded startups outperforming their male counterparts in terms of revenue1 according to research by Pitchbook2, in 2017, just over 2% of venture capital funding went to all-female startup teams. As two leaders in the FinTech community, Barclays and Anthemis have joined forces to launch the Female Innovators Lab, which is aimed at bridging this gap.
Barclays announces the appointment of Adrienne Yih as a Managing Director and Senior eCommerce and Brand Retailing analyst, based in New York. “Adrienne has a strong reputation with both institutional and corporate clients for thought-leading research and deep sector knowledge, and her expertise will complement our existing retail research team,” said Rob Rouse, Americas Head of Equity Research. Prior to joining Barclays, Adrienne worked for Wolfe Research where she was known for developing robust quantitative models used to inform her fundamental industry view and stock picks.
Barclays Bank PLC (“Barclays”) announced today the launch of the iPath® Series B Carbon ETNs (GRN). The ETNs will track the performance of Barclays Global Carbon II TR USD Index (Ticker:Ticker::BXIIGC2T). The New ETNs are expected to begin trading on the NYSE Arca exchange on September 10, 2019.

(NLY) (Annaly), today released a new joint-study, entitled GSE Reform: Unfinished Business, which lays out steps that policymakers might take to reform the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae) and the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac). Barclays announces the appointment of Daniel Zimbaldi as a Managing Director in Financial Institutions Group (FIG) M&A. Mr. Zimbaldi will be based in New York. On April 29, 2019, Barclays Bank PLC (“Barclays”) had announced the transfer of primary listing for sixteen iPath Exchange Traded Notes from NYSE and NASDAQ to CBOE. Barclays Bank PLC (“Barclays”) announced today that the NASDAQ exchange (the “Exchange”) has notified Barclays that as an issuer Barclays did not comply with the NASDAQ listing rule 5840(j) (the “Rule”) that requires an issuer that chooses to voluntarily delist its securities to notify NASDAQ at least 10 days prior to filing a Form 25 and publish notice of the intent to delist, along with the reasons for the delisting, via press release.

Barclays Bank PLC (“Barclays”) announced today that the NASDAQ exchange (the “Exchange”) has notified Barclays that the listing of the iPath® US Treasury 2-year Bull ETN (the “ETNs”) (DTUL) no longer complies with certain of the Exchange’s continued listing criteria. Specifically, the Exchange has determined that the ETNs have a publicly held market value of less than $400,000 (see the Exchange listing rule 5710(k)(iv)(C)(2)(a)), as calculated pursuant to the Exchange’s listing rules that are required for continued listing. As per the Exchange’s listing rule 5005(a)(23), the Exchange uses the closing bid prices of the ETNs multiplied by the estimated ETN shares held by non-concentrated holders1 using publicly available data to determine the publicly held market value of the ETNs.

Barclays announces the appointment of Kristin DeClark as a Managing Director, Co-Head of US Equity Capital Markets (ECM) and Global Head of Technology ECM. Ms. DeClark joins Barclays with close to 20 years of experience in Banking, most recently as Global Head of Technology ECM at Deutsche Bank. In 2015 Ms. DeClark rejoined Deutsche Bank, where she started her career in 2001, after having spent close to eleven years at Credit Suisse in senior ECM positions.

Barclays today released a new Impact Series study, entitled Increased corporate concentration and the influence of market power, which analyzes whether decreased competition is threatening the US economy or whether competitive pressures remain sufficiently strong to benefit industries, investors and consumers. To facilitate the analysis, Barclays constructed a new methodology to measure competitiveness: the Barclays Competitiveness Indicator (BCI).
