I’ve been day trading for years and I’m so glad I finally found (http://Pick-stocks.com). They’re pre-market watchlists cover all the latest market-moving news, and they don’t beat you down with tons of ads. Highly recommend!

    Rock & hard place
BHP made a bad decision at the
    wrong time
The Australian BHP Group has a
problem in Saskatchewan. It is too
far gone with the world’s biggest
potash mine at Jansen to abandon it
and the mine may never be profitable if the remaining $10 billion is
spent to complete it. The decision to
build it was made in the early 2010s
and construction started in 2015. So
far $4.5 billion has been spent. In
the meantime the world market for
    potash softened while new mines
opened in Belarus, Russia and elsewhere, creating a chronic surplus.
    According to the financial press,
BHP is negotiating with Nutrien for
some arrangement that could prevent a major embarrassment before
its shareholders. There may be nothing Nutrien can do either. The world
potash oversupply will last at least
the next decade. Global potash demand is increasing by just 2% annually. BHP is the world’s biggest
metals miner, but has no previous
    involvement in the fertilizer market.
In 2010 it attempted a takeover play
for Potash Corp, which later merged
    with Agrium.

IAF, Aberdeen Australia Equity, has three copper mining companies in its portfolio holdings:
BHP, RIO and OZL. Plus, it has a 9.4% distribution (4-26), which distribution has been fairly steady.

is the div here safe ? I see a 160% payout
it is really the only concern I have with BHP

Nice base forming at these levels should set us up for next leg up.

    Sponsored post:
BHP Group is said to be engaged in the natural resources business in Australia, Europe, China, Japan, India, South Korea, rest of Asia. Check the disclaimer on the landing page. Meanwhile, these other companies are said to reach approximately $16 billion by 2025 and could generate around $89 billion in revenue over that same period. Could these appear to be in support of CB*? Here is the answer:

What is the difference between BBL and BHP?
Is BBL the way to go for U.S. investors?
  • J
I have a question especially for people well experienced with options: I sold a June$60CC months ago, and was sure it was going to be called yesterday so the call owner would have the dividend, before ex-div (today). Especially it being only bi-annual and the larger one @~$2.02. I am amazed that it wasn't called, with the price over $60 and climbing even with the ex-div day drop. Was this a big blunder by the CC buyer? It sure seems so, but I don't know...

How is the dividend of this company taxed? Just wondering if they withhold a foreign tax for US shareholders.

stock should be much higher, with the world going electric via batteries, $125 as a starter

If BHP announces a deal with Tesla, this stock could fly like PLL did.. Hopefully soon!!

I understand historically that the decline in this stock is based on slowing economies, but this time we are devaluing currencies around the world so the value of BHP assets become much more valuable in fiat currency terms. When will the investing community wake up to this?

As a US investor with money in an IRA, why would you own BHP over BBL?
