Airbnb said in a regulatory filing on Tuesday that it’s setting a price range of $44 to $50 for its initial public offering, which would raise up to $2.85 billion and value the company at roughly $30 billion.
The Covid-19 pandemic has hit the travel industry hard, including online travel agencies, or OTAs. Analyst Richard Clarke initiated coverage of OTAs with a cautious long-term view on Tuesday. The fact that “we, lodging analysts rather than internet analysts, are covering the OTAs is in itself telling,” he wrote.
Airbnb plans to raise $2.5 billion with an initial public offering that will price shares in the range of $44 to $50, according to an updated filing. The IPO could occur in mid-December.
